![]() Luckily just because there is an exclamation point doesn’t mean that the mods are currently conflicting each other, however, it is a warning that if players choose to activate two similar mods they may conflict with each other essentially meaning that either one or both will break resulting in no change to the gameplay. Sometimes players will notice an exclamation point when they are enabling or disabling mods while in the Trove client and this simply means that there are two mods that contradict each other. WHAT IS THE EXCLAMATION POINT ON THE MOD PAGE? Unlike the Glyph Launcher players can simply unsubscribe to mods that they no longer need or want to use when using the Steam Launcher. Similarly to when players are using the Glyph Launcher to activate Mods, players will have to hit Esc and select Mods in order to activate or deactivate mods. When players have located the mods that they would like to install all they will have to do is hit subscribe in order to activate them. When it comes to installing mods on the Steam Launcher players will have a bit of an easier and will instead need to head to the Trove Steam Workshop to select the mods they want to install. ![]() HOW DO YOU INSTALL MODS USING TROVE ON THE STEAM LAUNCHER? Once placed in the mod folder players can now open Trove in order to access their mods by clicking their Esc key and selecting Mods.įrom this menu players should be able to click enable or disable on the mods they want to activate or deactivate. Upon downloading the mods players will need to head to their default mod directory which tends to be: C:\Program Files (x86)\Glyph\Games\Trove\Live\mods While I usually prefer to install games using the original client that was meant to host the game, I have to say that when it comes to using the Glyph Launcher to install mods tends to be a bit more tricky, simply because players will have to locate and download mod files manually instead of simply “subscribing” to mods in order to activate themįirst players will need to locate mods on the Trove forums or Trovesaurus and will need to download them to their computer. HOW DO YOU INSTALL MODS USING TROVE ON THE GLYPH LAUNCHER? That being said, I would strongly recommend installing Trove using the Steam launcher as it tends to be easier to manage than having to always install mods using the Glyph Launcher and I’ll cover why shortly. ![]() The following guide will teach you how to install mods on both platforms though I will be focussing on the mods you can install using the Steam Workshop as those are the mods I have tested and tried more than the ones that can be found on the Trove Forums or Trovesaurus. Last year I was an avid players of Don’t Starve Together and I found an affinity to mods that messed around with the user interface to be my favourite as it simply allowed me to focus on the more important aspects of the game rather than provide myself with too many perks that ruined my gameplay.Īs I recently got back into Trove, I’m happy to see that the Trion Worlds dev team actually made it so that Trove itself implements mods instead of having to download a separate mod loader, essentially making it easier for Trove players to access, download and activate the mods into their game play.Īs Trove can be accessed both on Steam and through the Glyph Launcher there is a bit of a difference between how a player will need to install mods, though both are generally pretty easy to interact with once players understand the basics of downloading and installing mods. I am personally a huge fan of mods as I feel like they can truly enhance gameplay as choose to stay away from mods that nerf of make mechanics too easy and instead try to focus on mods that simply make the mechanics in game that are annoying… well, less annoying. When it comes to playing games that allow mods, half the game seems to be searching for the right mods that fit your needs.
